Font deals are a blessing for all the freelance designers out there. Usually they don’t have a big budget for resources like agencies do, so they have to find another way to handle this. On this page you will find the best places for typography deals on the web.

1. HypeForType

HypeForType is a great marketplace for fonts that was started by Alex Haigh to sell his own typefaces. They don’t have the largest font catalogue, but they sell great and unique fonts, always with good quality in mind.

They also have a gorgeous website and interface that makes browsing it much more enjoyable than most other platforms. The best part is that they often release fonts with great discounts.

2. Fonts.com

Fonts.com is an online selling platform run by Monotype, one of the global typeface design leaders for over a century. They have worked with legendary designers and consequently sell all the best fonts. Fonts.com also has one of the largest fonts inventories, with over 150’000 desktop and web fonts. They often offer great promotions, like free fonts, discounted fonts, and sometimes amazing flash sales that just last for a day or two.

3. MyFonts

MyFonts claims to be the largest font marketplace in the world, we’ll trust their claim as they really have an impressive collection of typefaces on their site, and they keep adding new fonts at an impressive rate. Font designers often launch their typefaces at discounted rates on MyFonts, so you should definitly keep an eye on what’s new there (hint: you can get the best MyFonts deals announced by email through TypeDeals newsletter). The special offers section on MyFonts also offers a pretty impressive range of cheap fonts.

4. MightyDeals

MightyDeals doesn’t specialize in fonts or typography in general, but the deal site has tons of resources for graphic designers and regularly releases some awesome font deals. There are probably something like two font deals a month on MightyDeals, and I’ve never been disappointed so far the typefaces released.

5. Graphic River

Envato is mostly famous for their templates marketplaces, but they do have marketplaces for pretty much anything a designer could need. On graphicriver, their shop that’s more targetted to designers, they sell fonts that often come at a price that beats any other font shop. The typefaces are often less famous, but always high-quality.
